Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kalyn Thobe and Kendyl Hess Lead Marion Local to Victory

Marion Local's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flyers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Marion Local was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-11, 25-23.

Marion Local was led to victory by Kendyl Hess and Kalyn Thobe. Hess had nine digs and three aces, while Thobe had five assists. That's the most aces Hess has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good server: Marion Local was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Marion Local has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lehman Catholic, they moved to 7-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Marion Local wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Memorial on the 23rd. As for Lehman Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Miami East on the 23rd.
