Softball Recap: Marin Catholic Takes a Loss

Marin Catholic dropped their record down to 16-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the San Marin Mustangs by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-4 loss two weeks ago.

Morgan Carlson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 14 times she's played.

As for San Marin, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won six games in a row.

On San Marin's side, Taylor Testa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, San Marin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Postel, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Postel has hit this season.

As of now, neither Marin Catholic nor San Marin have any future games scheduled.
