Basketball Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Layton Lancers

Weber is 2-8 against Layton since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Weber Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Layton Lancers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Weber's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Weber is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Fremont: they outscored them in every quarter. Weber enjoyed a cozy 58-44 win over Fremont on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Silverwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Layton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 70-60 win over Farmington on Friday. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Phoenix are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Layton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Weber, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Weber came up short against Layton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 84-71. Can Weber avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
