Volleyball Recap: Deer Valley Takes a Loss

Deer Valley lost against Oakland Tech last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolverines took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Deer Valley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Gabriella Duarte and Paris Williams, who picked up four kills apiece. Duarte really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 45. Hazel Toliao and Alliyah Morauda kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Deer Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Oakland Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Deer Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Vallejo on the 6th. As for Oakland Tech, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Marin Academy on the 6th.
