Softball Recap: Glasgow Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Glasgow came into Monday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Butler County Bears 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Scotties have posted since March 29th.

Kerigan Hagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, Glasgow's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Kuykendall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Glasgow's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Butler County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glasgow will welcome Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Butler County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
