Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Faith Lutheran

The Coronado Cougars will face off against the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Coronado's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last nine matchups.

Coronado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Western get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Fans of Coronado have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit Western with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Flickinger (2), Dylan Flores (2), Liam Bringhurst, and Jace Self.

Meanwhile, Faith Lutheran faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Crusaders skirted past the Patriots 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Faith Lutheran were the better team in the second half.

Faith Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 12-5-6. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 21-0.

Coronado took their win against Faith Lutheran when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
