Softball Game Preview: Maine Central Institute Huskies vs. Monmouth Academy Mustangs

The Maine Central Institute Huskies will take on the Monmouth Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Maine Central Institute made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hall-Dale, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Huskies fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The loss put an end to the Huskies' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Monmouth Academy faced St. Dominic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Saints. The Mustangs' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Monmouth Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Maine Central Institute, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
