Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Beats Telos for Their Fifth Straight Win

If Telos wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pinnacle, they should've done a better job of containing Brody Howell. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Titans 73-32 with plenty of help from Howell, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 31 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.4 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Diego Contreras, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Contreras is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season.

The victory keeps Pinnacle at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 63.4 points this season. As for Telos, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pinnacle will venture away from home to square off against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Telos, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
