Basketball Recap: Tellico Plains Takes a Loss

Tellico Plains and Tyner Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Tellico Plains had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tyner Academy Rams by a score of 46-43. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tyner Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zion Pinkerton, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Pinkerton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rodney Henderson III, who posted 12 points and eight boards.

Tellico Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Tyner Academy, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-6.

Tellico Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tyner Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-51 victory against Roane County on the 6th.
