Baseball Recap: Fort Vancouver Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fort Vancouver, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the Kalama Chinooks on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trappers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Shayne Quarles was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Fort Vancouver's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kalama, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Fort Vancouver has already played their next contest (against Onalaska), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Kalama, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seton Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.
