Softball Game Preview: East Hamilton Hurricanes vs. Stewarts Creek Red Hawks

The East Hamilton Hurricanes are taking a road trip to challenge the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks on Friday. East Hamilton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Stewarts Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Hamilton's offense. They fell just short of Walker Valley by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Hurricanes have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Yulai Woodruff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Red Hawks have won by exactly five runs.

Stewarts Creek let Addison Brawley and Lillian Fox run wild. Brawley went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Fox went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Pope, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Stewarts Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland only managed four hits.

East Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Stewarts Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 25-6-1.

However, it's not like Stewarts Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
