Softball Recap: Dougherty Valley Has No Trouble Against Campolindo

Dougherty Valley never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Campolindo Cougars 17-0. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Katie Osborn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Osborn was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Henry, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Lohe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Dougherty Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campolindo only posted an OBP of .167.

The win made it two in a row for Dougherty Valley and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Campolindo, they will challenge Terra Linda at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campolindo is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
