Football Recap: Marysville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Marysville extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-6. They came up short against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras, falling 42-18. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 35-14 to the Fighting Zebras when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Loss or not, Marysville got some senior leadership from Joshua Adams and Andrew Salguero. Adams gained 122 total yards, while Salguero gained 120 total yards. Israel Rabago handled things on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.

As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Zebras, who have now won five contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Eli Duff continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 154.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Another player making a difference was Mason Volzer, who picked up 72 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Marysville and Lincoln are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Indians will challenge Esparto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marysville will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lincoln, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lathrop at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so the Fighting Zebras' offense will have their work cut out for them.
