After only one run in their last match, Washington Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Calais on Wednesday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Blue Devils. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Bella Cirone was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lilyana Balyint was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Hennessey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
