Soccer Recap: Richlands Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Richlands hadn't done well against Croatan recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Cougars 1-0. Given Richlands' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Croatan are ranked 328th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richlands' one-goal win came courtesy of Omar Rodriguez Aguirre, who's now up to six this season.

Richlands pushed their record up to 7-0-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four contests. As for Croatan, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9-1.

Richlands has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Southwest Onslow on the 11th. As for Croatan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against Cape Fear on the 13th.
