Baseball Recap: Soda Springs Gets the Win

Soda Springs hadn't done well against Declo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Hornets 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Hornets on April 9th, they had to take a 8-7 defeat.

Stoney Irick was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Dillworth, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Soda Springs' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-9-1. As for Declo, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Soda Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Declo, they will venture away from home to challenge Lighthouse Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
