Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Takes a Loss

If Evergreen Christian was feeling good fresh off their 56-21 takedown of Fairfax Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Evergreen Christian Eagles took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Gryphons.

Despite the loss, Evergreen Christian still got an impressive performance from Adriana Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Those 25 points gave Jenkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayden Johnson, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Evergreen Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Evergreen Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, they moved to 9-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Evergreen Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-38 defeat against Calvary Temple on the 31st. Trinity Christian has also already played their next game, a 40-35 loss against Seton on the 31st.
