Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Generals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Fort Wayne Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davianna Irons led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. Irons has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamoni Grayson, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian will venture away from home to square off against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they will host Huntington North at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
