Baseball Recap: Lamar County Comes Up Short

Lamar County and Sumiton Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lamar County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-5. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lamar County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Sumiton Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

While Lamar County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
