Preview: Hebron Hawks vs. Lewisville Farmers
The Hebron Hawks will be playing at home against the Lewisville Farmers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hebron never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Plano West last Friday. They walked away with a 41-28 win over the Wolves. Given Hebron's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Plano West is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Patrick Crayton Jr looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Ayson McCray Jones was another key contributor, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Lewisville stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 26-3 margin over Plano East. The win was nothing new for Lewisville as they're now sitting on four straight.
Viron Ellison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Ellison hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Sean Oliver got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Plano East to a paltry 218 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Lewisville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was O'marius Dimry-lockhart and his two sacks.
Hebron now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lewisville, their win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Hebron ended up a good deal behind Lewisville when the teams last played back in November of 2022, losing 31-17. Will Hebron have more luck at home instead of on the road?
