            Davie is 9-1 against R.J. Reynolds since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The War Eagles will venture away from home to  square off against the Demons  at 6:00  p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Davie has three straight  victories, R.J. Reynolds has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Davie can't be too worried about heading out to take on R.J. Reynolds: they just beat South Iredell at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point.  Parker Davis looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high.
 On the hitting side,  Coy James was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Davie's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 9-4 (and 0-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Hunter Potts, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Davie  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least nine  hits in four consecutive  matches.
Meanwhile, R.J. Reynolds came up short against  Davie on Tuesday, falling  20-7.
 R.J. Reynolds saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Joakim Rose, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  Rose  hit this season.
 Davie's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for R.J. Reynolds, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
