Somers had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Canton Warriors 7-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-11 win back in May.

Justin Czerwinski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brandon Damboragian, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Somers' victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Canton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Somers will square off against Lakeview at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Bobcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
