Evan Smith put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in February of 2024 on Friday. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Smith's strong effort led Southwest Christian School over Trinity Christian and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southwest Christian School has been dominating at home and they will enter the contest having won nine straight home games dating back to last season.
