Basketball Game Preview: St. Lawrence Central Larries vs. Salmon River Shamrocks

St. Lawrence Central has gone 9-1 against Salmon River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The St. Lawrence Central Larries will welcome the Salmon River Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Lawrence Central has four straight victories, Salmon River has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, St. Lawrence Central didn't have too much trouble with Edwards-Knox as they won 82-67.

Ayden Beach was his usual excellent self, going 19 of 24 en route to 39 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The matchup was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Ashley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists.

Meanwhile, Salmon River played a tough contest on January 6th in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Colton-Pierrepont and fell 57-21. The Shamrocks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-4.

St. Lawrence Central pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Salmon River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for St. Lawrence Central against Salmon River when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-16 victory. In that game, St. Lawrence Central amassed a halftime lead of 48-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
