Baseball Recap: King Mustangs vs. Flour Bluff Hornets

King had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-20-1 to make it six. They fell 4-1 to the Flour Bluff Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

King saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Lytle, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Lytle's first of the season.

As for Flour Bluff, the win got them back to even at 13-13-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Flour Bluff's side, Colten Englert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Englert has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Flour Bluff: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-13-2 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Roland Vera looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Bradley Terry was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
