Volleyball Recap: Proviso West Takes a Loss

Proviso West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodstock Blue Streaks.

While Proviso West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-23.

Proviso West's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Woodstock, their win ended an 11-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-20.

Proviso West and Woodstock could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Oak Park-River Forest at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (524 vs. 15). Meanwhile, Woodstock (ranked 617th) will meet Shepard (ranked 182nd) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
