Baseball Game Preview: Curtis Vikings vs. Graham-Kapowsin Eagles

Curtis is 8-2 against Graham-Kapowsin since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Curtis' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Graham-Kapowsin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Curtis fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Emerald Ridge on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 4-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bradley Dinelt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Curtis saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harlan Carrillo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Graham-Kapowsin came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Sentinels 14-3. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 7-4. As for Graham-Kapowsin, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Curtis took their victory against Graham-Kapowsin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
