Preview: Ridgefield Spudders vs. Washougal Panthers
The Ridgefield Spudders will head out on the road to face off against the Washougal Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Ridgefield had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against Hockinson. Ridgefield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Washougal had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They managed a 65-61 victory over Hudson's Bay. 65 seems to be a good number for Washougal as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Washougal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Darling, who scored 15 points. Darling continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Alex Frost was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Ridgefield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Washougal, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Ridgefield didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Washougal in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. Will Ridgefield repeat their success, or does Washougal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
