Baseball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

The Corvian Community Cardinals will challenge the Langtree Charter Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corvian Community is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Corvian Community made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Union Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Corvian Community fell just short of Union Academy by a score of 8-6 on Monday.

Brennan Frey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Corvian Community: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-10 otherwise. Ben Hoffman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy came into Wednesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Pine Lake Prep on Wednesday.

Aiden Gelpke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Easton Roschke, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Langtree Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Corvian Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corvian Community has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Langtree Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Corvian Community beat Langtree Charter Academy 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
