Baseball Recap: Sharyland Comes Up Short

Sharyland entered their match against Rowe on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Sharyland fell just short of Rowe by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Rattlers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sharyland got a good showing from Emilio Villarreal, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Villarreal a new career-low.

At the plate, Sharyland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sergio Ibarra, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Ibarra hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Sharyland and nudges their season record down to 12-3-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Rowe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rowe beat Sharyland by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday.
