The Odyssey Charter School Titans lost against the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Odyssey Charter School fell 40-28 to Melbourne Central Catholic. Odyssey Charter School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Odyssey Charter School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melissa Mayfield, who scored seven points along with 17 rebounds and four steals. Talyssa Hilaire was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Odyssey Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Odyssey Charter School and Edgewood will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Edgewood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Odyssey Charter School in Florida (Edgewood is ranked 253rd, while Odyssey Charter School is ranked 509th). As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Satellite is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
