Softball Recap: Tamarac Victorious

While Tamarac's win against Greenwich wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Witches on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Witches: they've now won four in a row.

Greenwich's batters probably weren't too happy with Toni DeLorenzo, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up a single walk). DeLorenzo has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Makenna Ashe was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mihaly Blake, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Tamarac's record now sits at 7-2. As for Greenwich, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Tamarac is set to take on their familiar foe Emma Willard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Greenwich will face off against rival Mechanicville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
