Soccer Recap: Mascoma Comes Up Short

Mascoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 4-0 to the Kearsarge Cougars. While losing is never fun, Mascoma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Kearsarge are ranked eighth).

Mascoma's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Kearsarge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-1-4 record this season.

Mascoma will head out on the road to challenge Manchester West at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester West will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last. As for Kearsarge, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Bishop Brady on the 16th.
