Softball Game Preview: Pender Patriots vs. Lakewood Leopards

The Pender Patriots will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Lakewood Leopards at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakewood took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pender, who comes in off a win.

Pender is headed out to face Lakewood after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Pender's way against James Kenan on Tuesday as Pender made off with a 16-6 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Charleigh Rivenbark was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayda Tozour, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to Clinton.
