There's no place like home for Waynesfield-Goshen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the New Knoxville Rangers 4-3. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 9-4 victory the Rangers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jace Kaufman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Kaufman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rocky Cummings, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Braden Barnes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win got Waynesfield-Goshen back to even at 2-2. As for New Knoxville, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Waynesfield-Goshen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Hardin Northern on the 14th. As for New Knoxville, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against Fairlawn on the 14th.
