Basketball Game Preview: Grand View Christian Thunder vs. Nevada Cubs

The Grand View Christian Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Nevada Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Grand View Christian strolled past Saydel with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Eagles are ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nevada). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Perry 83-55. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Nevada, bringing their record for this year to 16-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Grand View Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.

Grand View Christian strolled past Nevada when the teams last played back in January by a score of 73-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grand View Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
