Volleyball Recap: Pecos Starts off Right with Win over Escalante + How To Watch

Pecos took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Escalante Lobos by a score of 3-1. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Lobos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Pecos had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Escalante still got an impressive performance from Shea Archuleta, who had 56 digs and three assists. Archuleta has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Escalante dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pecos will take on Penasco in a tournament on September 5. As for Escalante, they will face off against Tohatchi at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
