Basketball Recap: Phoenix Christian Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Phoenix Christian Cougars came up short against the Camp Verde Cowboys and fell 62-54. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordan McMahon-Fullmer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 20 boards for Camp Verde. That makes it four consecutive games in which McMahon-Fullmer has scored at least a third of Camp Verde's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Russell, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and six assists.

Phoenix Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Camp Verde, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phoenix Christian will challenge Madison Highland Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Camp Verde, they will square off against Scottsdale Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Camp Verde is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
