Basketball Recap: Chopticon Braves vs. Lackey Chargers
Even though the Chopticon Braves have not done well against the Lackey Chargers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Chopticon simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chargers 75-48 on the road. That looming 75-48 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Chopticon yet this season.
Chopticon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Iverson Hill, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Harrison, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Chopticon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Lackey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chopticon will challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully North Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Lackey, they will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Leonardtown is ranked 112th, while the Chargers are ranked 132nd).
