Baseball Recap: Kentridge Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kennedy Catholic, Kentridge was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Stadium Tigers by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Chargers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Kentridge got a great performance from Riley Lambarena as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lambarena also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Chargers are undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Finlayson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Josh Lueck was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Kentridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stadium only posted a batting average of .273.

Kentridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Stadium, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Kentridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
