Preview: Dryden Cardinals vs. Mayville Wildcats

Dryden is 10-0 against Mayville since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dryden Cardinals will look to defend their home court against the Mayville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Dryden will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Dryden can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They put the hurt on Deckerville with a sharp 74-53 win. Given Dryden's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Deckerville is ranked 592nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mayville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Peck on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. The victory was just what Mayville needed coming off of a 63-32 loss in their prior match.

Mayville found their leader in underclassman Jackson Buhl, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Buhl has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Langmaid, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

Dryden pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Mayville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Dryden against Mayville when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 76-37 win. Will Dryden repeat their success, or does Mayville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
