Softball Game Preview: Lecanto Panthers vs. East Ridge Knights

The Lecanto Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the East Ridge Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Lecanto is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lecanto's offense. They came up short against Crystal River on Thursday, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, East Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Verot. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Ridge got a good showing from Adyson Liddick, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Liddick a new career-low.

At the plate, Veronica Peterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Lilly Land also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

East Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Lecanto, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
