Basketball Recap: Anclote Comes Up Short

Anclote and Dunedin squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Anclote had to settle for second. They took a 78-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunedin Falcons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-60 back in December of 2024.

Dunedin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JALEN JACKSON led the charge by going 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points. SHERWIN SIMMONS was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Anclote's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Dunedin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9.

Anclote does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dunedin, they will welcome Nature Coast Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunedin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Nature Coast Tech likes a good challenge.
