Baseball Game Preview: Orange Grove Bulldogs vs. Taft Greyhounds

For the second straight game, Orange Grove will face off against Taft. The Bulldogs will challenge the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Orange Grove heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taft. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zach Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zach Starns was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Daniel Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Orange Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10-1. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 13-12-1.
