Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Heritage). They blew past the Mitchell Mountaineers 14-8 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the match before.

Caden Carrol made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Levi McCurry was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Deyton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Mountain Heritage lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

With the victory, Mountain Heritage broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9. As for Mitchell, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Mountain Heritage has already played their next contest, a 37-1 win against Rosman on the 8th. As for Mitchell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-6 victory against Owen on the 8th.
