Softball Game Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Righetti Warriors

The Lompoc Braves will venture away from home to face off against the Righetti Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lompoc's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Righetti's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lompoc barely beat Mission College Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Royals on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won eight in a row.

Alex Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lompoc got a massive performance out of Emma White, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits White has posted since back in March of 2024. Grace Day was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Meanwhile, Righetti posted their closest victory since April 11th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Arroyo Grande. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Lompoc's record is now 15-10. As for Righetti, their record now sits at 18-6.
