Baseball Recap: Mulberry Grove Takes a Loss

Mulberry Grove extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They lost 20-5 to the Altamont Indians. The Aces were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Altamont, their record now sits at 16-6. Considering they have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Altamont's part, Carson Milleville made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Milleville has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Keegan Schultz was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Bell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, Mulberry Grove will face off against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Altamont, they will host Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.7, the Comets 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
