Softball Recap: Boyertown's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five contests, Boyertown finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Perkiomen Valley Vikings by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kyra Neiswender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Boyertown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Sobeck, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Boyertown's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Perkiomen Valley, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
