Softball Recap: Arleta Triumphs

Arleta's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Roosevelt Rough Riders 4-3. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on LEILANI GURROLA, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. BRYGETTE RAYGOZA was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Arleta is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Roosevelt is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Arleta has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Northridge Academy on the 22nd. As for Roosevelt, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 loss against Leuzinger on the 22nd.
