Basketball Recap: Everton Comes Up Short

Everton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Walnut Grove Tigers 65-34. Everton was not able to make up for their loss to Walnut Grove from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Everton had strong showings from Joshua Daniels, who posted 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, and Noah Morris, who scored four points and 13 boards. That was a full 58.8% of Everton's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Everton's record is now 1-16. As for Walnut Grove, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-7.

Everton will host Humansville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Humansville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Everton surely won't give up without a fight. Walnut Grove has already played their next match, a 70-52 win against Macks Creek on the 25th.
